What did we do to help?
We provided volunteers to help with the 16th annual Golf-A-Ganza pub crawl fundraiser for the St. Louis chapter of the Dream Factory. We also contributed to the fundraiser by sponsoring a four-person team to participate in the Golf-A-Ganza. We had a blast volunteering and joining with other local businesses and supporters while raising money for a good cause.
What does the Dream Factory do?
The Dream Factory fulfills dreams for critically-ill children ages three to eighteen. The Dream Factory recognizes the pain and emotional suffering that children with severe diagnoses face. They strive to improve the quality of life of these children with life-threatening conditions as well as youth struggling with chronic illnesses and conditions. The Dream Factory provides children with comfort, hope, and some relief from the stress, anxiety, and depression that accompanies their struggle for wellness.
The Dream Factory started back in 1980 and since then has grown to serve in over 19 states with 10 chapters in Missouri alone. While maintaining its grassroots approach, the Dream factory has expanded into the largest all-volunteer run wish-granting charity for children in the United States. They don’t employ local staff and because they operate with volunteer staff, 96% of all money raised goes directly to granting wishes for sick children. They have also distinguished themselves with the rare and excellent four-star rating from Charity Navigator for the eighth time.
Why did we choose to support the Dream Factory?
Ferguson Roofing selected this award for the 80 in 80 Project to celebrate the volunteer spirit, helping those in need and the coordination of local business support with charitable organizations. This was a great opportunity to support an activity and fundraiser that brings the community together for a wonderful organization.
