What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing made a financial contribution to help the Special Education Foundation of St. Louis build a bridge between students with disabilities and the resources they need to succeed in school and in life.
Gateway Science Academy
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing worked with the Gateway Science Academy on a construction project. We assisted with bid creation and discounting work in an effort to support their mission of raising the trajectory of student’s lives.
Caring Solutions
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing made a financial contribution to help Caring Solutions in their mission to provide assistance to developmentally disabled children and adults in St. Louis and surrounding counties.
Shape the Sky
What did we do to help?
Shape the Sky, LLC is unique compared to most of the other grant recipients as it is a socially-focused business. We provided human resources to help Shape increase its reach to the growing need of people who are at a digital crossroads.
Love the Lou
What did we do to help?
We provided a financial gift to Love the Lou in support of their mission to help citizens in need to build a better St. Louis.
Life Arts
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing worked with the executive director, Brian Owens, in converting a church into Life Arts’ future headquarters. We provided labor, materials, construction services, and supplies.
Jason Motte Foundation
What did we do to help?
In August, the Jason Motte Foundation will host its 7th Cornhole Challenge in St. Louis, Missouri, and Memphis, Tennessee. Ferguson Roofing is proud to be one of the longest-running supporters of this event. We have made financial contributions and have sent a sponsored team to the Cornhole Challenge for years as we continue to work in the united effort to combat cancer.
Incarnate Word Academy
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing contributed to the Incarnate Word Academy’s fundraiser.
Habitat for Humanity
What did we do to help?
We participated in a fundraising bowling event through one of our distributors. We joined in team play and contributed to the fundraiser event in which all proceeds went to the local Habitat for Humanity St. Louis.
Dream Factory Golf-A-Ganza Fundraiser
What did we do to help?
We provided volunteers to help with the 16th annual Golf-A-Ganza pub crawl fundraiser for the St. Louis chapter of the Dream Factory. We also contributed to the fundraiser by sponsoring a four-person team to participate in the Golf-A-Ganza. We had a blast volunteering and joining with other local businesses and supporters while raising money for a good cause.
Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA)
What did we do to help?
The Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) is a nonprofit organization for disabled athletes. Ferguson Roofing made a financial contribution to support their efforts to provide therapeutic sport and fitness opportunities for their athletes.
BackStoppers
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing wholeheartedly backs our law enforcement and first responder community. We provided a financial contribution and ongoing support to BackStoppers through our industry association, the Roofers and Siding Contract Alliance (RSCA), who have been long-time patrons of BackStoppers.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing provided a financial contribution in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s goal to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Bikes for Tykes
What did we do to help?
Ferguson has long supported activities that support health and families. However, biking with its variety and levels of challenge that can be enjoyed individually, with a family member, or a whole crew of friends, is one of our absolute favorites. Throughout Bike for Tykes’ 48-hour donation drive, we sponsored the event, donated a van-load of bikes, and jumped in with volunteers helping fix bikes and adjusting them for their new owners. This was one of the last programs we rallied behind, so many team members agreed to unify their employee nominations and get behind this one cause.
Urban Sprouts Child Development Center
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing contributed to Urban Sprouts’ fundraising. Those contributions are used to support programs at this dedicated and nurturing child development center.
St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach
What did we do to help?
We helped St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach in their mission to protect and improve the lives of feral cats living in our community by sponsoring them in a trivia night fundraiser. This financial contribution will help them with TNR (trap-neuter-return program), advocating for responsible pet care, and emphasizing the importance of sterilization.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
How did we help?
Ferguson Roofing helped in two capacities. First, we contributed to the golf tournament fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House organized by another organization we partner with, Women in Roofing.
Second, we created a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program for our employees. Participants can use up to three working days of volunteer time for public service. Ferguson Roofing donates these staff hours to the mission of increasing the public good. We encourage our employees to share their time and energy by volunteering.
Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing has committed to multi-year financial support for the Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League to help them become established in our state as an emergent league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
Angels’ Arms
How did we help?
Ferguson Roofing has had a supportive relationship with Angels’ Arms for a number of years now. As part of our 80 in 80 project, we reached out to them by providing construction services and put a new roof on a residential home remodel. It’s a great feeling helping to provide shelter to an organization who shelters those most in need.
Gifted Resource Council
What did we do to help?
The 80 in 80 project wanted to back an organization that supports children who are not fully served in their own right. We made a financial contribution to help them in their effort to build a framework for gifted children that will teach them how to maximize a student’s gifts and talents rather than leaving them to drift outside the mainstream.
Diamonds in the Ruff
What did we do to help?
Diamonds in the Ruff has a mission to advocate for the voiceless animals who have been neglected, abused, and abandoned. We made a financial contribution to support their efforts in providing medical attention and a safe, loving, forever home for animals in need.
World Pediatric Project
What did we do to help?
Since 2001, the World Pediatric Project has treated over 12,000 children and providing over 25,000 specialist services unavailable in underserved areas of the globe. We contributed financially to the WPP to help fund a life-changing project that heals children, saves lives, and expands the distribution of critical health services across the continents.
The WPP’s In-Kind donations magnify contributions and provide a boosted philanthropic return on investment. WPP’s In-Kind donations come from participating doctors, nurses, hospitals, and suppliers. Each dollar donated generates an additional $5 to the project.
USA Homeownership Foundation, Inc.
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing made a financial contribution to The USA Homeownership foundation to help them provide homeownership, loan education, and real estate seminars and to help serve thousands of veterans in need of housing, VA loans, and financial education.
Prosperity Connection
What did we do to help?
We gave a financial contribution to Prosperity Connection. They help to increase financial literacy for an underserved population in our community. They teach people to move from financially struggling to becoming self-sustaining and, eventually, thriving. When people understand the dynamics of personal finance and the basics of economics, they have the information they need to make better decisions, save more, and invest wisely.
National Kidney Foundation
What did we do to help?
We provided the National Kidney Foundation with a financial contribution to help them in their mission of enhancing and saving lives through education about kidney health.
It’s Your Birthday, Inc.
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing has supported It’s Your Birthday, Inc. with a financial donation. We support their mission of providing a special day for children that have fallen between the cracks of often overlooked and underserved populations.
First Run Theater
What did we do to help?
We supported First Run Theater with a financial contribution to join their effort to increase access and production of local theatrical arts. We want to add to the effort of encouraging our community to support local theatrical companies, playwrights, and actors so they may have the means to produce plays that have never been performed. We are inspired by the support of local artists and the creation of a platform for emerging playwrights.
Center for Hearing and Speech
What did we do to help?
We helped the Center for Hearing and Speech with a fundraising event. We also provided some of our roofing expertise for repairs and maintenance of their facility. We hope this helps them with their objective to create global access for whoever needs their communication services.
Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing supported the Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis and their mission to empower all people impacted by cancer with a financial donation. These contributions are used to increase education and create a wellness community around those affected by cancer.
Defenders 14u National Baseball Team
Who are the Defenders?
One of the categories in our 80 in 80 campaign is organizations nominated by our employees. One of our longest tenured employees of 15 years, Jeff Houran, nominated the Defenders to be recognized. They are a 14u National Baseball Team that plays for the O’Fallon Community Athletics Club (OCAC). The OCAC is a non-profit organization that was started in 1960 and is completely made up of volunteers. “14u” stands for 14 years of age and “under league.” This means the boys that play on the team have to be 14 years old as of January 1, 2019.
Team Noah Foundation
What did we do to help?
The Team Noah Foundation hosts a variety of fundraising events to generate donations for families with children suffering from a congenital heart defect. Ferguson Roofing elected to sponsor one of their race events. The Foundation works with the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and their FootPrints program to locate families in need of the financial support these sponsorships provide.
Pedal The Cause
How did we help?
Ferguson Roofing provided financial support for a friend who lost a parent and companion to cancer and donated funds to a dedicated rider participating in Pedal the Cause.
Kid Smart
How did we help?
Ferguson Roofing donated volunteer time off to our employees so they could help directly in the KidSmart Free Store, which provides supplies for over 10,000 underprivileged students in the St. Louis area. We also donated use of equipment trailers, helped with garbage removal, and provided them with a location for free storage of KidSmart materials for the winter until the schools were ready to receive them.
Every Child’s Hope
How did we help?
We provided a gift basket to assist in a fundraiser for Every Child’s Hope. This fundraising effort supports ECH’s mission to provide programs and services to the ever-changing needs of children and families throughout our community and the state.
The United Way
How did we help?
Volunteers play a central role in the United Way, which supports more than 160 partner agencies by helping people through a wide spectrum of programs ranging from providing food and shelter for families in need to assisting entire communities. Worldwide, the United Way has over 2.8 million volunteers. It can be hard to keep track of them! We sent one of our employees, Erin Gilbert, to help build and expand their volunteer tracking application on the Salesforce platform.
JOY FM 99.1 Mission Trip
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing helped sponsor one of our valued employees, Laura Benton, on her mission trip to Guatemala. Local radio station JOY FM 99.1 created the mission trip to help families in Guatemala.
Circus Harmony
What is Circus Harmony all about?
Circus Harmony is a unique non-profit organization that artfully connects different people and local cultures through the instruction of circus-style performing arts. Imagine facing your fear while swinging on a trapeze high above a net. Circus Harmony uses these unique experiences as a way of developing physical fitness, confidence, communication, trust, and the kind of social skills that can help children become successful, happy, engaged adults and help adults grow these attributes. As students learn to “leap over social barriers,” they become stronger and develop emotional well-being in a supportive and challenging environment.
Missouri Mudders and Leadbelt Racing
How we helped
We sponsored the children’s race and offered a $500 gift card to a random winner from the drawing. Ferguson Roofing hopes the gift card can help the lucky winner to purchase a brand-new children’s bike. Supporting the Leadbelt children’s race allows us to acknowledge the support and sacrifice parents make to their children in outdoor sports.
Ainad Drum and Bugle Corps
This May, employees of Ferguson Roofing played in one of the area’s longest-running golf tournaments for charity. The Ainad Drum and Bugle Corps hosted their 28th annual golf tourney to raise funds for their many activities throughout the year and to support the philanthropy of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Special Olympics of Illinois
What did we do?
Ferguson Roofing sponsored and played in the Foz Ryan Memorial Golf Tournament. We had a great time playing golf at the Oak Brook Golf Club and helped raise funds for the Special Olympics of Illinois.
Alzheimer’s Association
This year, Ferguson Roofing pledged our financial support to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
This organization is working to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease. They are advancing research, providing care for patients and their families, and working to promote brain health and reduce the occurrence of dementia.
BOMA
Ferguson Roofing chose to partner with The Building Owners and Managers Association of Metropolitan St. Louis – BOMA, by supporting their Trivia Night charity fundraiser. Ferguson has an ongoing relationship with BOMA and supports its mission to create positive change in the commercial property industry while reaching out to the local community. The May 10th trivia night provided fun, snacks, and a challenging trivia competition while raising money for a local charity, Kingdom House.
Marianist Retreat and Conference Center
How did we help?
Ferguson Roofing contributed financial support to the Marianist Retreat Center’s Trivia Night fundraiser. This support aids the MRCC in their mission to provide opportunities for people to experience solace and spiritual contemplation as well as educational opportunities in alignment with their values of justice and inclusion for marginalized people. This is a place that fosters a greater peace in the hearts of participants and in the heart of our community.
Tenth Life Rescue
How did we help?
Ferguson Roofing donated a gift basket to Tenth Life Rescue for cats. The Tenth Life philosophy is that every cat, despite medical conditions, physical limitations, or the mental scars of abuse, deserves the chance at a fulfilling and happy life.
Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship
What did we do to help?
The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, known as NFTE (pronounced as “nifty”), is an international non-profit organization providing entrepreneurship training and education programs that serve young students from low-income urban areas. Ferguson Roofing supports NFTE through our financial contribution to the local classroom programs and by volunteering as mentors, tutors, and competition judges.
Bridgeway Elementary PTO
With our ongoing efforts to support those who support us, Ferguson Roofing donated items for the Bridgeway Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Elementary School Trivia Night. The event was hosted on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019. The Bridgeway PTO supports the Bridgeway Elementary School, located in Bridgeton, MO. Bridgeway Elementary is part of the Pattonville School District, which has been voted one of the top places to work by the St. Louis Post Dispatch in 2015-2018.
Church of God at Baden
How did we help?
When Ferguson Roofing discovered that the food pantry at the Church of God at Baden needed roof repair, we knew we could help. Ferguson donated construction services to help shelter an organization that is sheltering our community.
St. Louis Blues Blind Hockey Club
What did we do to help?
Ferguson Roofing provided support for the St. Louis Blues Blind Hockey Club with a financial donation. This contribution works to support visually impaired athletes, the growth of the sport of hockey for the visually impaired, and the organization’s long-term goal of gaining inclusion in the Winter Paralympic Games.
Family Forward
What did we do to help?
Two of St. Louis’ premier non-profit organizations combined their 171 years of experience of helping children and families to form Family Forward. The Children’s Home Society of Missouri and the Family Resource Center united to provide assessment, therapeutic care, and education for children with developmental disabilities. This organization was able to positively affect nearly 7,000 children and their families last year.
Friends of Kathy J. Weinman Shelter
What do the Friends of Kathy J. Weinman Shelter do?
Many women leave abusive situations with only the clothes on their backs. The Friends of Kathy J. Weinman Shelter provides them with everything they need to get their lives on track. While the necessity for such a shelter may sadden or frustrate us, the work they do gives us hope. However, they do much more than uplift and encourage. They also provide survivors of domestic abuse with a safe community, a place to live, and the resources necessary to rebuild shattered lives.
Burns Recovered
What did we do to help?
We helped Burns Recovered meet their objectives of preventing burns and reducing the suffering caused by burn traumas with our financial support. The St. Louis community elected them for the 80 in 80 awards because of their mission to transform patients from burn victims to burn survivors.
Oasis International Ministries
What did we do to help?
As part of our 80 in 80 project, Ferguson Roofing looks for diverse ways to contribute to non-profit organizations. Our community committee discovered just the opportunity for us when they found that one of Oasis Ministries had a facility with roof leaks. We repaired the leaks and improved the shelter for an organization that shelters others.
Cornerstone Center for Early Learning
What did we do to help?
The St. Louis community nominated The Cornerstone Center for Early Learning for one of our 80 in 80 grants. This organization uses this support to help over 170 families a year and over 200 children throughout the St. Louis area by providing affordable and reliable childcare.
Camp Jump Start
What did we do to help The Living Well Village and Camp Jump Start?
The St. Louis community nominated the Living Well Foundation to receive one of our 80 in 80 grants. The Living Well Foundation takes a whole health approach to camps that help children, adults, and families jump-start new ways of living a healthy life. In addition to the initial grant, Ferguson Roofing will continue to work with the Living Well Village as they upgrade their facilities and improve their camp buildings. We are helping them with fundraising goals, general contracting, sourcing of affordable materials, project management, and will help with installation and laborers to ensure quality and successful completion of the improvements. This will help them to serve more campers and provide the life-changing experience that transforms people’s lives.
Brackets for Good
How did we help?
We awarded Brackets for Good as our first grant winner of our 80 in 80 campaign. Ferguson Roofing contributed as a first-round sponsor becoming one of the first companies to assist BFG with opening up in the St. Louis area and connecting to local companies and organizations.
